A little ABOUT ME
Hey, I’m Lia Jay - So Nice to Meet You!
I bought a camera thinking, “Yeah, this’ll be fun,” and—boom—just like that, I was hooked. What started as a simple way to capture the world around me quickly became an obsession. My relentless snapping turned into my signature move, like a magician pulling rabbits out of a hat—except my trick was freezing time, one click at a time.
Somehow, what started as a passion project turned into something bigger. People started noticing. Smiling. Feeling something. And just like that, my hobby became my thing.
Through it all—marriage, divorce, remarriage (because why not give love another shot?), raising five kids, earning my stripes as a grandma to three, trading the fast pace of NYC for the slightly-less-chaotic NJ, and even switching careers (cartography, of all things—yeah, I used to make maps!)—photography never left my side. It was my creative fuel, my therapy, my way of making sense of the beautiful mess called life.
When I’m not behind the camera, I’m usually buried in edits, juggling a million things at once (shoutout to ADHD for keeping life interesting), cracking dad-level jokes, spoiling my ridiculously pampered fur baby, or plotting my next big photo project.
Turns out, pressing pause on life’s best moments and getting to relive them over and over? Not a bad way to spend my time.
From celebrations to everyday events, photographs help us keep these moments close to our hearts and forever in our minds memories. With so much going on all day every day, I love the option to sit down and be reminded of what is most important in my life. As a lifestyle photographer, I am looking and determined to catch the moments and feelings of the personalities that I see before me. So that you have those images for you to enjoy as well. Born and raised in New York City. I studied photography at F.I.T. and the like. Many of my photographs have been published in several newspapers and books.

“ Our sincere thanks for these beautiful photos, that absolutely captured the most heartfelt and happy day. We have no idea how we will pick our favourites for an album, though we definitely have one or two that we cannot wait to have framed and in our home. “ - Meredith R.
“ We are so grateful to be able to work with you for our extended family session. To be supported by you…as clichéd as it sounds, we felt like we were being looked after by family. Looking forward to working with you again soon!. “ - Hillary P.
“One of my best experiences with a photographer by far!! Lia was so friendly, accommodating, and sweet. I loved working with her! She took incredible shots of my family and got the pictures back to us in a timely manner. I would highly recommend her services. - Ayelet S
